New Release: The Other Tribe - Skirts

So I struggled a lot on picking the new release, there wasn't anything I was interested in, only Rihanna's "Diamonds" which doesn't have a music video. After much searching I read a twitter post by Aiden Grimshaw that announced he bought a single today on iTunes, and this was the song, after one listen I was instantly hooked and I have bought this single, and I agree with Aiden Grimshaw it was totally worth it!

The Other Tribe is a new band on the block, they are a six-piece band consisting of James Hill, Miles Metric, Ollie White, Alex Oldroyd, Max Cleary and Charlie Brown. They have been going since 2009 and are from Bristol, UK. Their live shows have been rated high a lot, and it seems this single will definitely be charting this Sunday, it's been climbing up the chart since yesterday and I doubt it will stop.

This music video links in with the band more than it does with the song, which is a whole different take on things and it really interests me. It's totally narrative with a bit of a performance side in certain scenes. This is definitely a video that would stand out on a music channel, and the fact that the song managed to capture me within the first listen just makes this all the more better.

The video follows a girl (actress name unknown), who wonders through the forest and finds tribal items, she then goes deeper in the forest and finds a tribe who welcomes her in. There are many sensual references, but they have done them on a small scale that people may not even see them.

Overall I have to thank Aiden Grimshaw for introducing this band to me. The song is amazingly catchy and I cannot wait to hear more from them. The music video relates to the band which is a unique twist to the common music video, and I cannot wait to see what videos are around the corner for these guys.

New Release: Aiden Grimshaw - Curtain Call

Well you all knew this was coming, I had to make a choice, it was between Rita Ora's "How We Do (Party)" Vs. this song as both singles have been released this week. I had a big feeling that Rita Ora's song will chart well, and I'm right as it is currently number one on the UK iTunes chart, and that is why I reviewed it last week. This song, on the other hand is currently in the top 100 and is climbing higher and higher, but I thought it might help if I reviewed it as my new release.

Aiden Grimshaw first became known on the seventh series on the UK's The X Factor. He was stiff, nervous and just looked like he wasn't comfortable. Now we know why, it was all down to the song choices, there are no songs out there that's right for him, hence why he hasn't released any covers, instead he has his own songs and they are so different to anything I've heard of before, and he's the only one who could sing such songs. His album is released soon and I cannot wait to listen to it, as I can see it being perfect in every way. It will also have his brilliant first single on there "Is This Love". The seventh series of The X Factor produced quite a few artists who are: Matt Cardle (winner), Rebecca Ferguson (second), One Direction (third), Cher Lloyd (fourth), Mary Byrne (fifth), Katie Waissell (seventh), Paije Richardson (eighth), Aiden Grimshaw (ninth), Belle Amie (eleventh), Storm Lee (fourteenth) and Nicolò Festa (sixteenth).

This music video is much happier than the first single, however it's more of a performance piece than a narrative video, as there is not much to the storyline, instead we have people having fun and doing exactly what they want to do. Which doesn't exactly link in with the song as the song is about loving someone and them loving you back.

I like some of the things you see like that biker jumping off the bike. I love the bit where the couple is lying down on the car and the plane flies over the top of them, that must give you a high adrenaline rush. However I do not agree with the scene where the bikers are setting off fireworks, fair enough it's part of the video, but it can be considered to be encouraging kids to do the same, there is no warning that it is highly dangerous.

Overall a great song that I could listen to again and again, it's accompanying music video, on the other hand, is simple and clear, but it's missing quite a lot that could potentially make this video great. The rating would be higher but there is dangerous things going on in the video that could influence other people to do the same.

New Release: Aiden Grimshaw - Is This Love

Aiden Grimshaw becomes my New Release, I am in love with this song, I never really liked him when he was on the seventh series of The X Factor UK, I thought he was nervous and not confident enough, I also thought he wasn't ready. But it may have just been down to the songs, there's no songs out there that sounds like this one, he has definitely found his niche, and I cannot wait to hear more from him. There were many artists to have embarked on a musical career, these are: Matt Cardle (winner), Rebecca Ferguson (second), One Direction (third), Cher Lloyd (fourth), Mary Byrne (fifth), Katie Waissell (seventh), Paije Richardson (eighth), Aiden Grimshaw (ninth), Belle Amie (eleventh), Storm Lee (fourteenth) and Nicolò Festa (sixteenth).

"Is This Love" was written by Aiden Grimshaw, Jarrad Rogers and Joel Pott (frontman of Athlete). You can tell Aiden wrote this song with help, as there are no other songs out there quite like this one, and that is what makes it so amazing, and is the main reason why I love it so much! I always get this song confused with "If This Is Love" by The Saturdays, as they both have similar names, and I always start singing The Saturdays' song before this one plays on YouTube.

This music video is a big narrative piece, but how can you not enjoy watching it. Aiden Grimshaw appears as an extra in this video, and I always have to look out for him every time I see this on the music channels. I have yet to hear this song on the radio, let's hope that people download it and it gets a high charting position so more radio stations have to play it.

There is a big story with this one, obviously he is doing drugs, and he is definitely on a downward spiral, with drinking and smoking as well. Life seriously isn't going his way, I love the little surprising scenes in this, and there's a lot going on.

Overall it's a great song that is different to what is out there at the moment. It's accompanying music video represents the song perfectly, but I would have liked to have seen more of Aiden Grimshaw about and it just feels like this music video is missing some sort of spark.
