This is one of those sorts of songs that grow on you. I've heard this song so many times now that I've started to like it; yet, at the same time, I'm still not going to be a fan of this track. I wish it wasn't in the Top Ten of the UK Singles Chart, just so I don't have to review it (yeah, I had two other options, but this one is more likely to drop out sooner than the other options I had today); since Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber is still on top with "Despacito", I kind of had no option. This video has all the coloured filters you can imagine and want, distorting reality yet keeping it real. Watch Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and Big Sean perform "Feels" on what looks like a tropical island, as Calvin Harris rocks up in the background with a guitar as colour distortion switches up this music video!

Calvin Harris, real name Adam Wiles, has really come a long way since his debut and is absolutely bringing it when it comes to music; his latest album is all collaborations, showing off his producing side, which we've seen before; however, I truly believe we prefer his own vocal music, as that is what soars him up the chart, in some cases. Regardless, he continues to be a top DJ that we continue to love. Featured on this track is Pharrell Williams, who has also been bringing it over the past few years; he's definitely a solid performer and vocalist, one everyone wishes to collaborate with one day. Katy Perry also appears on this track; real name Katy Hudson, she's quickly pushed herself up there with the top female singers of the world. And then there's Big Sean, real name Sean Anderson, the rapper who comes in and out of mainstream music and also manages to stay on top form. This is one heck of a collaboration, it's just a shame that this song is a grower and not an instant catchy hit, but it's one that stays in our head annoyingly. It was written by Adam Wiles, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Brittany Hazzard, and Sean Anderson.

Directed by Emil Nava - here's his name again, definitely an in-demand music video director - this visual is taking colour distortion to the next level; pretty much using every colour filter imaginable to not only infuse summer but to show that colour doesn't matter.

All three vocal artists nail this performance piece, but I feel that there isn't a lot for them to do, and there's more focus on the colour, making us blink so much that we practically miss what they're doing; not that they're able to do much since Pharrell Williams is trapped in a boat in the middle of a lake surrounded by sand; Katy Perry is lying down in the grass with a bright yellowy/orange dress that is unflattering on her, hiding away; and, as for Big Sean, he's sitting down on a chair as if he's the King of this tropical island, but he can't embody his lyrics because of his two parrot side-kicks, that totally steal the show.

There's just not an awful lot going on in this music video. The colour transforming filters can either capture the audience or turn them away, and since they stick with this idea, everything else loses focus and gets sent into the background.

Overall, this music video deserved to be better, it embraces summer and goes over the top with colour filters - it's literally the only thing I can comment on. It's interesting to an extent and we all want to visit that place, but it's not awesome at all.

We're all chained to the rhythm. Katy Perry is back with this brilliant, dark and raw song that utilises what we all are, in a powerful catchy way. Katy Perry is hitting out these great songs, but they're not instantly catchy like her previous songs were, which probably explains why they're not performing as well. This one has started doing better than "Rise" for many different reasons, but her performance at The Brit Awards and The GRAMMY Awards definitely ignited more downloads and streams. Watch Katy Perry have fun at a futuristic theme park with Skip Marley in the "Chained To The Rhythm" music video.

Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, has really established herself as one of the main female artists in the world, Forgetting all the shade towards plenty of other well-known singers, she is definitely one who is bringing unstoppable hits and brilliant music videos. Many of her songs are hits and it's surprising she hasn't released a greatest hits album yet, although I'm sure there's one on the cards in the near future. This song is about how we're all attached to social media, how we all comment the same thing about something, and how we're all chained to the rhythm. It's a powerful message, hidden in a very catchy song. It was written by Katy Perry, Max Martin, Sia Furler, Ali Payami, and Skip Marley.

Directed by Matthew Cullen, the music video is set in a futuristic theme park called Oblivia. There are various theme rides at this theme park, including a rollercoaster that has a gap in the tracks, I so want to go on it. There are springing houses, which intrigues me. There's a rocket roller coaster where the cars shoot off into the sky and then fall down. Don't ask me what the weird seat ride is, but it looks like fun. Then there's the hamster wheel.

I totally don't get the hamster wheel, like I want to give it a go, see if I can beat it, but I don't think it would be fun. I think Katy Perry is trying to make us see that we're all hamsters, running around in a wheel, sometimes we fall, sometimes we can't keep up, sometimes we conquer it, but regardless, we're still running around not going anywhere. It's a very in-depth theory that still doesn't make sense to me, but that's what I make of it.

Skip Marley, who is the son of Cedella Marley, and the maternal grandson of Bob Marley, brings some reggae to Katy Perry's track. He comes out of the TV during the outdoor cinema scene, where everyone is dancing the same dance to his part of the song. He brings some fresh performance vibes that really showcases him as an artist, whether he'll have a subsequent hit, is a different story; but this song has actually given him a much-needed spotlight, so we'll be watching to see what he releases next.

Overall, this is a theme park I want to go to! Although, some rides seem way too dangerous, but I think we should presume they passed all the safety checks so they're all good. It looks like a lot of fun, although the petrol station scene doesn't make much sense to me; to be fair, a lot of this music video doesn't make sense, and yet works in a weird and strange way.

Katy Perry - Rise



Katy Perry is back with this uplifting track, that is definitely a grower. Dropped at the same time as Britney Spears' "Make Me...", this song took a prominent push back on my listening scale as I repeatedly fell in love with Britney Spears' "Make Me...", hearing this occasionally though has made me love this song too, definitely a grower. It more than describes the situation I'm in, I'm fighting for my career and I'm determined to rise, to become who I'm meant to me, regardless of what others may be saying. Katy Perry proves that you have to fight, you have to keep going, achieve your dreams because you will rise, hard work pays off.

An inspiration to us all, Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, has really made herself one of the biggest female singers in the world. This single is a non-album single and will be heavily featured during the US viewing of the 2016 Summer Olympics. It has charted worldwide and has been well received. It was written by Katy Perry, Max Martin, Ali Payami and Savan Kotecha.

Directed by Paul Gore, the video features a parachute much like Christina Milian's "Rebel", only Katy Perry adds a much better narrative and performance piece.

Accompanying the music video perfectly, Katy Perry battles with the parachute, trains herself to use it properly so in the end she will rise, rise high into the sky.

During the drama, she almost falls off a cliff, cuts herself on the parachute wires and gets caught up in a rain storm.

But in the end, as we all know she's a fighter, she flies up into the sky. She defeats all the doubts and proves that she can do this. Such an inspiration, we need more music videos like this.

However this video doesn't have much going on, and although it's showing a full story, it's quite slow and gradual and although rising in the real world is gradual, there's just something missing overall.

Katy Perry Featuring Snoop Dogg - California Gurls



I could've sworn I had already reviewed this music video, how the hell is my blog still going and I've never reviewed this video? Well it's time for me to correct this major problem. This is exactly why I like my Thursday Revisits, a perfect excuse to review past music videos that deserve to be a part of my blog. Katy Perry becomes a character in her own board game, which Snoop Dogg is playing. Later, Snoop Dogg joins the characters in the board game for a battle.

Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, hit big with this song, and it's accompanying music video is fire. The song hit number one in the UK and the US as well as many other countries. The featured star is Snoop Dogg, real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., who has had a major career as a rapper, jumping in and out of the charts. This song was an answer to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' song "Empire State of Mind". It was written by Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, Benjamin Levin, Bonnie McKee and Calvin Broadus. It is an ode to the California state.

The video was directed by Mathew Cullen, and was inspired by the work by Will Cotton.who was the artistic director of the video. It takes inspiration from the Candyland boad game.

The board game for this music video is called Candyfornia, and also has an explanation stating "Face the Sugar Daddy's dice to free the Queens of Candyfornia" which sounds like some weird gay sex dream.

So much effort went into the making of this music video, like literally there is so much going on, so much to talk about, so much to see, every single minute detail is included, even the dice are real sugar.

Instead of looking at it in detail, I'm going to give the basics, since it is extremely developed. Katy Perry walks around the Candyfornia board game, coming across previous characters who fell at the hands of Snoop Dogg. She rescues them and collectively they defeat the Sugar Daddy.

Many scenes can be highlighted, such as the gummy bear who swears, I so hope he fell hard at the end. The gingerbread scene looked like fun, and the ending is pretty perfect, totally sexual and yet so awesome at the same time.

Overall, this is the sort of board game you want to be involved in, yet knowing it's not real. It transports everything you know about California girls and puts them in a Candy world. A perfect video for a brilliant song.

Katy Perry - This Is How We Do



This was playing on my iTunes today, which I have on shuffle, and it's been stuck in my head whilst at work, so thought I'd review the music video as we await her new album, which she is currently working on. It's been two years since this video dropped and it's still a lot to take in. This is how we do according to Katy Perry, this is how you do a studio-based music video, totally knocking it out of the park with this performance piece.

Katy Perry, real name Katheryn Hudson, hasn't released anything new since this song almost two years ago. She started in the music industry under her real name Katy Hudson back in 2001, but changed her stage name to Katy Perry to prevent confusion between her and the actress Kate Hudson. We are waiting patiently for her new music, which has been a long time coming for any KatyCat, or Katy Perry fan, Katy Perry has been a little bit busy, she recently became the most followed celebrity on Twitter, amassing 90.3 million followers. Her most recent single, this one, was written by Katy Perry, Klas Åhlund and Max Martin.

The video was directed by New Zealand filmmaker Joel Kefali. Relating to the song perfectly in this summer hit of 2014, adding in pop culture and exact translation into visual during lyrics, this is how you pull off a studio-based music video.

There's literally so much going on that even to document every minute detail, you're bound to miss something.

Twerking ice creams, pizza nails, Yves Saint Laurent's Mondrian dresses, Mariah Carey caricature, picture of Aretha Franklin, pop art to the max, karaoke, dancing, table tennis, this music video has it all.

The explosion of summery stuff in a studio-based music video makes this video tongue-in-cheek and so addicting. It matches the song's beat and style, and totally worked! Each lyric of the song has it's own 'vignette' according to the director.

However the song didn't perform well on the charts, despite the catchy tune and perfect music video. It isn't really a commercial song, too bubble-gum pop that would've really worked years and years ago, and although it attempted to make a comeback, it didn't impact the charts the way it should've done. However this will always become one of Katy Perry's classic tracks that we all know and love even if the charts say differently.

New Release: Britney Spears - Ooh La La

Britney Spears and The Smurfs in a music video together... Am I seeing this right, or is it one of my dreams? Nope definitely not a dream, my life is now complete.

Britney Spears, well-known across the world, hasn't had a UK number one since 2004 with "Everytime", unless you count her collaboration with will.i.am on "Scream & Shout". As well as that she has never had a UK number one album, shocking I know, but she will get there one day, we all should keep faith. Her next album is on it's way, and how healthy she looks in this video, and after a year of being a judge on The X Factor US, it's bound to be a great album!

"Ooh La La" was written by Lukasz Gottwald, Joshua Coleman, Lola Blanc, Fransisca Hall, Bonnie McKee, Henry Walter and Jacob Kasher Hindlin. Some well known songwriters right there, so it explains why it is so catchy. It was supposed to be sung by Lola Blanc, but a deal was made to give it to Britney. I have listened to it way too often and I can't stop. It's simple lyrics, it's clubby motives and the beat is all so drawing. This should be a hit, yet it's slowly climbing up the charts, hopefully it will hit the Top 40 this Sunday, but at the moment it looks unlikely.

The song is on The Smurfs 2 soundtrack, and since I'm seeing The Smurfs 2 on Thursday, I definitely expect this song to be played. As expected The Smurfs are in the music video. However I'm a little disappointed that we haven't got any songs from The Smurfs on the soundtrack. The first movie had them singing a few songs, and I expect the Smurf theme to be sung, but no sign of it on the soundtrack. I thought this would be like an Alvin and the Chipmunks soundtrack, guess that may never happen, I was really looking forward to Smurfette's 'I Kissed A Smurf' cover of "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry.

The music video is mainly performance piece, with interspersed clips of The Smurfs 2. I like everything it's so good and so cute, what with Britney Spears' children and niece being in the music video, they are called Sean Preston Federline, Jayden James Federline and Maddie Aldridge respectively. They go to the cinema to see The Smurfs 2, and Gargamel zaps Britney into the film.

The opening scene with the Cinema is a homage to Janet Jackson's music video for "Nasty". Here Britney goes again with her homages!

The scenes with the boys and Maddie in the background are great to watch, and they perform so well, it makes it believable, and they did a great job.

Britney looks healthy in the entire video, she's dancing and having Smufette (voiced by Katy Perry) on her hand. She's having a great time, and it's good to see her well again. It may be due to having her boys with her, but since the song is for them anyway you can't help but smile. The world has Britney back once and for all.

The Smurfs perform a dance to her song, I keep watching it, and I'm hoping to learn the dance moves. I'm also expecting a lot of DJ's remixing this song for clubs, it has that hook in the middle that will suit clubbing perfectly.

Overall, a great song which should be a global success, yet it hasn't managed to do that well, could the reason be digital downloads? Since when CD Singles were released children could go and buy the single and help it chart, but now it's all digital downloads, the song attracts many younger audiences who probably can't buy the single without bugging their parents to death. The accompanying music video is amazingly cute. I don't know how Britney gets out of the Smurf world (she may be stuck there forever!) This has excited me for her new album, and I can't wait to see what the future brings to Britney.

Krista Siegfrids - Amen!


Krista Seigfrids may not have done well in Eurovision this year, yet she's not letting it knock her down, oh no, her new single is on fire, what with over 200,000 hits on YouTube and getting good reviews across the board, this is one girl who is not going down without a fight. And I intend to support her all the way!

"Amen!" was written by Krista Siegfrids, Erik Nyholm, Jessika Lundstrom, and Kristofer Karlsson. The song is different to "Marry Me" yet is still outrageously catchy, that no other song will knock this out of my head for the rest of today. It hasn't been released in the UK as of yet, but I'm hoping it does, as I reckon it will do well, if radio play picks up, I have been requesting it lots, and I hope it gets lots of promotion.

The music video is raunchy, but that is who Krista Siegfrids is, after seeing "Marry Me" music video along with the performance at Eurovision. This is someone who isn't afraid.

The video reminds me of Basshunter's videos because it's a continuation of the previous video, and if this is exactly what Krista Siegfrids plans then I'm excited where this one will lead.

The music video announces at the start that she did get married a couple of months ago yet 'Needless to say: it didn't last' according to the writing at the start.

The song is all about starting a new life, and her husband releasing her, and she is clearly more alive than ever. The limousine scene reminds me of Tyler James' "Single Tear" and she is currently getting a lot of comparisons to Katy Perry and Ke$ha... But she is totally herself, and I can't wait to see what more she gives to us.

Overall a song that will be on my mind for today, if not for the rest of the week. The music video relates well, and has a loose but well-fitting link with "Marry Me". This girl is going to be a star, she just needs to push herself and show how much a mistake everyone was for not voting for her in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.

Katy Perry - Teenage Dream

Katy Perry is becoming a big artist now, and it's hard to keep up with her. Her actual name is Katy Hudson, but she uses Katy Perry as her star name because she thought her name sounds too close to Kate Hudson's. I like how catchy her songs are becoming, and I'm sure she's going to be around for a very long time. She has recently got divorced from UK's Russell Brand, and she wrote a song about him "Part Of Me" that I can't wait to be released here in the UK.

Teenage Dream was written by Katy Perry, Laukas Gottwald (A.K.A Dr. Luke), Max Martin, Benjamin Levin and Bonnie McKee. Again we have the formidable Dr. Luke and Max Martin cllaboration, who are best known for a number of amazing songs. This one is subtle and really interesting, and the perfect follow up to California Gurls.

This music video is a great representation of the song, it links in amazingly, and I congratulate the people who came up with the idea, as there wasn't any other way of doing this. It's completely narration, but that is perfectly fine, and totally expected from a pop music video.

The story paints the picture of a teenage couple getting together, I like the idea that we see where it started but not at the beginning, it makes this stand out and is different from other narrative videos. Katy Perry's on-screen boyfriend is played by model Josh Kloss, who is attempting to get into acting.

There's some bits that is really good, such as when they're driving in the car, I really want to just sit in a convertible, just once in my life, and it has to be very very sunny. I also like the beach scene as that looked like great fun.

This music video links in well with the song, and it makes a change to find a video that is a great representation of the song, so I have no choice to give this the rating it deserves, I hope everyone agrees.

Jessie J - Domino

Jessie J (real name Jessica Cornish) is quickly becoming one of the biggest UK female artists, she's already cracked it in America and Australia. Europe is obsessed with her, so where else has she got to go? This is he new song here in the UK, but elsewhere it was released as her fifth single, ahead of "Who You Are". I first heard it in the car, and I was immediately drawn to it, but the radio DJ wouldn't announce who it was, so the next time I heard it I listened out for a name, after having the people in the car send out suggestions as to who was singing. Suggestions were: Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Pixie Lott and Cher Lloyd. We piled out of the car with shocked faces as we weren't expecting Jessie J to be the singer.

The writing credits is surprisingly long, but here goes, the people who wrote this song were Jessica Cornish, Lukasz Gottwald (Dr. Luke), Claude Kelly, Max Martin (collaborates with Dr. Luke quite a bit) and Henry Walter. Claude Kelly has wrote quite a lot of songs, most of them well-known, and has worked with Jessie J quite a few times. This song is definitely a hit, especially since it has already got to number one here in the UK on album downloads only, the official release date is the 27th February 2012. Will she remain on top until the official release date? We'll have to wait and see, but there will be a lot of competition.

Now when I first saw this music video, I was surprised, with this sort of song I was definitely expecting a massive production that will just make us all go WOW. Instead we're left with what looks like a low budget video with little to talk about, and there's really not a lot going on.

When I watched this today, it's the first time I ever noticed something intriguing. No one looks at the background, but for some reason I did and then I noticed that everything was moving in a sort of rhythm as the song suggests. I'm still disappointed at the video, it could have been amazing and perfect all at the same time, but I guess you can't always have one of the best music videos.

Lastly I want to comment on her hair, it looks like it may be a wig, since not so long ago in August 2011 Jessie J confirmed that she would be shaving off her hair to save lives... BUT there has been no official statement that she has yet, which means that in the video she could just have her natural hair. If that's the case then it must take ages to dye it all. However whether she has shaved off her hair or not, they still might be wigs...

Overall it's an amazing song and it's understandable why it's at the top of the charts, and I bet the clubs are using it a lot, but it's music video is dreadful, and I never expected a music video like this to ever be released for this singer, it's definitely her worst video yet, but considering other artists music videos, it's not all bad. But with guidance from CamCam, I came to this rating, I hope many of you agree.

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl

So it's Sunday, and I was struggling to think of an artist to do my revisit on. But then I realised that I have reviewed Katy Perry's most recent single, so why don't I review her first ever single to even it out.

Katy Perry released this song in 2008 and was written by Katy Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cathy Dennis. Once again Max Martin and Dr. Luke have popped up, and it's no wonder such songs are made because they are most definitely an unstoppable force. Cathy Dennis is a British songwriter and has written a lot of known songs released by pop stars such as Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and The Spice Girls. Apparently the song is about having a really close friendship when you are young. This song is very controversial, but luckily the music video is pretty fine, it could have been a hell of a lot worse.

To be totally honest, I'm not entirely sure what to think about this music video, it is okay and links in with the song to an extent, but I've previously stated in past reviews that if the narrative is similar to the song then it's usually a really good thing, but in this case, if the storyline fitted in with the song, then it would have caused a lot more controversy and it really wouldn't be a good idea, so I'm pretty much torn.

There really isn't a lot to say about this music video, I don't understand what a cat has to do with anything, and even though it is quite cute it sort of looks out of place. For people who, as of yet, are unaware, this music video features a then-unknown Ke$ha, but it wasn't long until Ke$ha made a name for herself, could being in this music video help her career?

Katy Perry and the other women are dressed like they are burlesque dancers, and they are dancing to the song (if that's what you want to call it). I like the mirror where they draw "I 'heart' Katy", and I think it's Ke$ha who draws it with her "cherry chapstick", but I'm not totally sure. I think if they were aware of 'heart hands' they definitely would have used them, but I'm glad they haven't as it's kind of dying off at the moment, in my opinion. I also love the ending, which is really clever, and I think a lot of people like the ending too.

Overall I like the song because of the very catchy music, although the lyrics are a little over-the-top, but what do really expect from Katy Perry? The music video links in very well, without it being too narrative to prevent controversy. The reason I've dropped a star is that there really isn't a lot going on, I'm not suggesting she should have "kissed a girl and liked it", but I am saying that there could have been more scenes that took place. But for a first single music video, this is definitely one of the good ones!

Katy Perry - The One That Got Away

Katy Perry, has become a really big star in just a couple of years. She has released two albums, with a third being released under her real name: Katy Hudson. She created Katy Perry, Perry being her mother's maiden name, as her star name because she thought Katy Hudson was  too close to film actress Kate Hudson. Katy Perry has recently matched a record with Michael Jackson for getting 5 singles to number one in the US chart all from the same album. This song is her sixth (and probably last) single from Teenage Dream, and if this manages to get to number one on the US billboard hot 100 soon she'll beat Michael Jackson's record, so come on America, start downloading.

This song was written by Katy Perry, Lukeasz Gottwald (AKA Dr. Luke) and Max Martin. Again Dr. Luke and Max Martin have teamed up with Katy Perry to create another amazing song. I just hope this song performs well as it becomes really catchy after hearing it more and more. Katy Perry sung this song on The X Factor in the second week. I didn't think much of it back then, but it's been played a lot on the radio lately, and I've really started to enjoy it. The song is about first loves and realising that it rarely works out and he/she will always be in one's heart for as long as one would live.

I love the music video, when I first saw it, so far I've only seen it three times, but I'm pretty sure that will change. When I first saw it I never got to watch the end, and I was always wondering what the comments were about on the YouTube video, but know I know. I was really surprised by what happened, and although I expected it when he took his eyes off the road, it still shocked me.

I like the whole idea of making Katy Perry look really old, I also like the fact that she is still stunningly pretty even when they've made her old, and if Russell Brand and Katy Perry's relationship stays strong then he's going to be one lucky man when they get really old. I also like to think that that old man at the beginning is supposed to be her husband, which would make him Russell Brand, although how he would turn out to look like him, I have no idea.

I like how she is reflecting on her past and her first relationship with her first lover, who is played by Diego Luna. They are both artists and are drawing one another. He is a really good artist, and I like watching this video to see if they are actually painting. But after an argument, where Katy Perry wrecks Diego's painting, and he storms out. And then out of carelessness, he doesn't watch where he is driving, and all of a sudden a rock is in the middle of the road and disaster strikes.

People have wondered where a rock would come from, but there are lots of reasons. Maybe Katy Perry has magic powers and when she wishes something to happen it does (this is extremely unlikely), or maybe a natural disaster happened such as an avalanche (this seems most likely).

I like the ending and the use of Johnny Cash's song, although to be honest if Russell Brand were to watch all of Katy Perry's videos and interpreted them into real life, he'll realise that she has once fallen in love with a girl (see "I Kissed a Girl"), has woken up in Vegas (see "Waking Up In Vegas"), is an alien from some far away planet (see "E.T.") and now she sneaks off to see her dead lover (see "The One That Got Away"). This proves you shouldn't take the videos as real life, and they are mealy an interpretation of the song.

Overall this song is really catchy, and I have my fingers crossed it gets to number one in the US. The accompanying music video is really heart-breaking, but also really clever and interesting, and I kind of find it really entertaining, so it definitely deserves this rating.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

This is Katy Perry's fifth single from her second album: "Teenage Dreams". She has broken a world record on the Billboard chart in the US, where she has managed to get a number 1 for every single she has released from Teenage Dreams. This record has never been done by a female artist, and the only other person who managed to do this was Michael Jackson. However here in the UK, the song only managed to get to number nine, and she failed to make number one in many other countries too.

This song was written by Katy Perry, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee and Max Martin, who keeps on popping up in a lot of the music videos I write about. It has a chatty sort of side to it, which reminds a lot of people of Ke$ha. The song was mainly written by Katy Perry, and she has been quoted as saying that most of the things she sings about, did actually happen, except for ménage à trois. Also the lyrics are all about going out clubbing and partying, and then having a little too much to drink and then doing stupid things. Apparently during the morning after the night before, Katy Perry started writing about everything she did that night and then created it into a song, with the help of Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Bonnie McKee (who apparently joined Katy Perry on her wild night out).

This is such a big music video, and you can see that with the amount of YouTube views, which is not far from hitting the 100 million mark (A.K.A. 100,000,000). Katy Perry took the persona of her thirteen year old alter-ego: Kathy Beth Terry. She was the main character in this 8 minute long music video, which is shortened down to 3-4 minutes for the music channels. The song is in honour of Rebecca Black's single "Friday", and kind of gives Rebecca more credit, and to be honest she really doesn't look thirteen. I also like how Kathy Beth Terry took some interviews before this music video was released, and Katy set up alter-ego face book and twitter pages, and a lot of people were unsure what they thought of her. However I think they managed to turned things around on the release of the music video. I think this video is probably going to go down in history as one of Katy's most iconic video, and I can definitely imagine it being played again and again in the years to come.

A lot of famous people appeared in this music video, and I thought I'm just mention a few of them, hopefully you'll recognise at least 2 of them. Well Katy Perry was her alter-ego Kathy Beth Terry. Rebecca Black played herself. Debbie Gibson played Kathy's mom, and Corey Feldman as her dad. Many other famous faces appear such as Darren Criss (who's most known as playing Blaine in Glee) appears a little. Kevin McHale (known for playing Artie in Glee) plays a nerdy Everett McDonald. A band appears at one stage, they re called "Hanson" (Most known for singing "MMMBop") and Kenny G plays Kathy's Uncle. You may find the odd few who might be well known hidden here and there if you find anyone please tell me, ad I'll be sure to add them

I really like how Rebecca Black decides to make Kathy look pretty, although I don't think it's much of an improvement, and besides someone should like someone because of what they are like in the inside, rather then what they look like on the outside. But then again it's not like it's anyone's fault, who you are and what you look like can definitely be two totally different things, and you can definitely tell that by Kathy, because obviously she is a party person, because she's going to "do it all again" next Friday night. However she definitely doesn't look the part. Therefore it goes without saying "Don't judge a book by the cover" although you can't possibly decide to read every book you come across, so on the outside, it sometimes counts.

I really like the imaginative side of things with this video, and I definitely like it how happy Kathy is with the guy in the bed. and some of the snapshots at the end are hilarious. Although I do have to admit, some bits are a little over the top, but maybe it was worth it. But really.... Was there any need in making the music video into a short film? It just makes it seem like they tried too hard, and was it truly worth it?

Some parents would be offended by the music video, and I'm surprised it hasn't been banned on the music channels yet. I know it isn't as bad as some of the videos that have already been restricted, but I still think a few parents would be worried if their young child was singing "There's a Stranger in my bed, there's a pounding in my head".

Overall I really like the chatty-song and the music video fits perfectly, it's what you can easily expect for this song, and although it's not very imaginative, it's extremely interesting, and very different to all the music videos that have been released so far this year. And although she didn't manage to get a number 1 for this song here in the UK, I am pretty sure the music video will bin and again and again.
